SECRET ROAD RECORDS IS PROUD TO PRESENT ARUM RAE'S LATEST ALBUM SUB ROSA!

Manhattan-based indie/soul artist Arum Rae has released her new unplugged album Sub Rosa on Secret Road Records. The album is the follow-up release to 2016’s Loners EP.

“Sub Rosa is a collection of past, present and future songs in what I consider to be their extra-pure forms,” Rae explains. “Some I recorded at home here in Manhattan and some at my friend’s studio in Brooklyn. Peeling back the layers for the sake of intimacy… an act that is usually the fast track to heartache, but in this case, a dare in the midst of transition to propel forward.”

The Latin phrase sub rosa means "under the rose", and is used in English to denote secrecy or confidentiality, similar to the Chatham House Rule. The phrase is directly connected to Arum, whose name is derived from a water lily (Arum lily). The album features a collection of unique unplugged versions of previously released songs, along with new tracks from her upcoming full-length album, due out this fall.
